HELICOBACTER PYLORI TEST
Helicotec UT Plus
(Helicobacter pylori) Card Test
(Rapid results within 5 minutes to 1 hour – does not require cold chain storage)
Helicotec UT
(Helicobacter pylori) Gel Test
Contains an agar gel medium and requires cold chain storage.
Should be stored between 2–8°C.
Purpose of Use
STRONG Helicobacter pylori urease tests are designed to detect Helicobacter pylori/urease activity in mucosal biopsies.
Instructions for Use (Method)
H. pylori produces a high amount of urease enzyme. To detect urea, a biopsy sample taken from the patient's stomach is placed onto the Strong urease test medium that contains ammonium ions and bicarbonate. If the urease enzyme is present in the biopsy sample, the final breakdown of urea causes an increase in pH, resulting in a color change in the indicator from yellow to dark pink. If the color turns pink or red, the result is positive; if it remains yellow, the result is negative.
